I DID IT!!!!

Wow--it has been a busy week!! In the midst of lesson plans, IEP meetings, (I'm an EC teacher), holiday get-togethers, and just general business, I actually managed to finish my very first quilt EVER!!

I wanted to make a t-shirt quilt, also known as a memory quilt, with a bunch of old t-shirts. I am a t-shirt junkie and these oldies have been just taking up valuable drawer space that I need to fill with my new t-shirts! I saw the idea on Pinterest a couple months back and have been obsessed with the idea ever since. I was surprised how quickly it came together--just over a week from start to finish!! I took it to my parents house and my parents were so impressed!! My dad has now pulled out about 30 of his old Harley Davidson shirts that have been just sitting in drawers and wants one! (I think I just figured out where my t-shirt collecting comes from!)

I'm going to do a separate post on step-by-step instructions on how I made it, but I did want to go ahead and put a post out with a pic of my first quilt! With the success I've had, I think it's safe to say I'm slightly hooked on quilting!
